Baccarat Rules, House Edge and Payout Tables GAMBLERS March 15, 2014 Baccarat, Home Baccarat is played in every casino of the world and widely dominant in Asia. There is no strategy and is a game of chance like slot machines and Bingo. Baccarat Banque, Baccarat Chemin, and Punto Banco are the three popular variants of this game. Player and Banker compare their hands and it would result in win of the player, banker or tie. Tables of Baccarat 1. Big Table Baccarat This variation of Baccarat has high minimum limits. Up to 14 players can take participate with 3 casino dealers. It is mandatory for the dealers to bet on the Banker while player can bet either on the banker or player with only exception to player holding Shoe in full scale game have to pass the shoe or either bet on Banker. Like dice rolls all over craps table the deal spin all over the table in Baccarat. Players have the choice either to deal or to pass the Shoe to player next to him. Player will deal as long as banker wins. The current player dealing will put 2 cards, tucked under the shoe and then hand over to the player with the highest bet on Player with the hand being facedown. At least 2 or 3 cards are available in a complete hand. Player look at the hand give it to the player who is dealing. Dealer will proclaim the winner as soon as the player dealing would turn his cards face up. The dealer may instruct player to deal a third card depending on the total score. No more cards would be dealt if the hand total is “8” or “9”. As the game ends, dealer will give the winning wager to the player and collect the loosing ones. 2. Mini baccarat There is a change in only 1 rule. The dealer turns up the cards to speed up the game. The house edge and the odds of winning are exactly same as of the Big Table. The odds are changed if it is dealt from the six-deck shoe. 3. Midi baccarat The rules and game are all the same and the only difference is in the size of table. Midi Baccarat has a bigger table than the big table Baccarat. Rules of Baccarat 1. Six-decks are used in Mini Baccarat while Eight Decks are used in Big Table. 2. Number 10 and all the face cards do not have any value. 3. Face Value of cards less than 10 is taken into account. Face value of Ace is taken as 1 irrespective of the suit. 4. Dealer would turn up one card at the beginning of the Shoe. The face value of the first card would let dealer decide how many cards to burn. Occurrence of 10 would be discarded as no matter what the value of other card is it has already turned into a two digit number. The ten’s place is dropped in two digit number and only the value of unit’s place matters. 5. From the bottom of the shoe cut card is placed. Dealer will end the hand when the first cut card appears and will commence a new Shoe after playing one more hand. Dealer has to finish that hand, if the cut card appears from the first card. 6. At the starting of the game, players bet on either “Player”, “banker” or a “Tie”. Some others table gives the flexibility to bet on Player and Banker table. 7. Two cards will be given to the banker and each player after all the bets are drawn. The total score of the two cards is counted For example, if the first card results in number 6 and another result in 8. They together make a total of 14 but score would be 4 as the unit’s place of double digit number is dropped. 8. After two cards are dealt and the scores come out, dealer will decide to deal a third hand or not based on the following rules. A). Player’s Third Card Rule 1. If either the banker or the player hits a score of 8 or 9. This hand is over and both of them stand. 2. Player would draw a third hand if he has a total of less than or equal to five. 3. If the third hand is not drawn by the player, than the banker hit on score of 5 or less. In case player takes the third card, then rule below will determine whether the baker will take the third hand or not. B). Banker’s Third Card Rule 1. If the total of banker is less than or equal to 2 than he has to take the third hand irrespective of the player third hand. 2. If the total of first two cards is 3 than he will draw the third hand if the player’s third card is an 8. 3. If the total score of banker is 4, then bank would be dealt with the third hand if player’s third hand results in 0, 1, 8 or 9. 4. If the total score of banker is 5 than bank would be dealt with third hand if player’s third hand has 4, 5, 6 or 7. 5. Bank would be dealt with the third card if the total of first two cards is 6 and player’s third hand results in either 6 or 7. 6. Bank would stand if he has a total of 7 regardless of player’s third hand.
