It draws attention of gamblers more than blackjack, slot machine, stud poker or any other. At first sight, it might seem to be a very difficult one but its rules are very simple and comprehensible to every one after slots. There are two types of Roulette tables American and European tables. American table have an extra 00 while European does not have one. There are many type of bets offered by casinos as gamblers could bet on a single number, numbers between 1-18 and 19-36 and even on colors which are Black and red. At a time six players can play on a single table and each player is given different colored chip. Each player is free to choose the amount of bet. Numbers are from 1 to 36, including 0 and 00 in American standard casino. Payout: 35 to 1 4. Dozen 1st 12, 2nd 12, 3rd12 fall into this category. It has a payout of 2 to 1 and a 12 numbered bet. You can bet on dozens between1-12, 13-24, 25-36. Payout: 2 to 1 5. Trio If any of the three numbers are hit in a row like a set of (1, 2, 3), (22, 23, 24),etc. as shown a layout. Payout: 11 to 1 6. Split It is a two numbered game. If any of the two numbers hit, you would receive a payout of 17 to 1. Payout: 17 to 1 7. Six This one is not common. It is a six numbered bet and would win a payout of 5 to 1. The box G covers the number 28, 29, 30, 31, 32, and 33. Payout: 5 to 1 8. Five It is a 5 numbered bet and you would win if any of the following numbers hit. These numbers are 0, 00, 1, 2 and 3. Payout: 6 to 1 9. Corner Corner is scored if any of the four numbers is scored. As shown in the layout strike I shows corner of 2, 3, 5 and 6. Payout: 8 to 1 In European standards it would be missing 00. In American Roulette, they have a 7.89% house edge on one of the bet while the rest has 5.29% which is same as the European Standards. While playing on American Table player always have some disadvantage. While facing the house they have chance of 2.63% of winning and it goes to 2.70% while playing on European Roulette Table. When it comes to even money bets players betting on European table has 2.7% edge decline to 1.4% on American table. Having only 1.4% in your favor makes this game difficult to win and that is most of the time house wins. There are European tables too in the American Casinos and you should always play on French wheels. They have high lower limits for the French wheels and if you have planned to make large bet than French wheel is the one you are seeking for. Though, European wheel has more advantage to the players but still people like to sit on American wheel for some time as it is a good time and relaxing. Equipment and Table Personnel Roulette is a game made up of two combined things. A wide table with a wheel attached to the end of it. As you can see in the Layout there are total 38 numbers (American Standards). The numbers are covered in boxes of color Red and Black with the two numbers 0 and 00 in green background. The 36 numbers are divided into three horizontal columns and 3 numbers each having vertical columns. 0 and 00 are also covered in green boxes above numbers 1, 2 and 3. In addition to the numbers there are other rectangular boxes which help to understand the rules of the games. The boxes are total 12 in number. 3 boxes which describe the 1st, 2nd and 3rd columns. The other boxes are for the Even/Odd, Red/Black, 1-18. 19-36. The Roulette ball is small hard plastic. Both the wheel and ball are in opposite direction and the ball never jumps out of the wheel as it is enclosed in the wheel itself which has some depth that holds the ball. When the ball loses its velocity it comes to rest on any random number. Roulette Chips Chips used in other games like blackjack are different from the Roulette chips and anyone can easily differentiate between them. You have to buy the Roulette chip and the color of chips is different of each player as the dealer can easily figure out which one belong to which player. Casinos do not want any trouble so they do not permit people share chips while playing. You and your friend have to get chips of different color. If the minimum bet for a table is $5, dealer would ask the value to be assigned as player wants 5 chips of $1 or a single chip of $5. Once the value is allotted the dealer will then place the chip in a separate section near the wheel which is also attached to the wheel. The chips are easily visible to both the player and the dealer. As the chip of Roulette differ from regular casino chip, they have no value other than on Roulette wheels. When the player has finished his bet and want to leave the game he would ask dealer to replace the Roulette chips with that of regular casino chips.
